Alabama 2019 Recruiting Update

National Signing Day is Wednesday and the Crimson Tide are looking to wrap up their 2019 class with a bang.

The Tide signed 24 recruits in the early signing period, which put them at the top of most recruiting rankings. They are still in the mix for some of their top targets, other targets are starting to lean towards other schools and uncertainty still surrounds their 2019 verbal commits.

Christian Williams (4-Star DB), Khris Bogle (4-Star DE), Keilan Robinson (4-Star RB) and Byron Young (4-Star DE) are Alabama’s verbal commits. Young and Robinson seem like they are well on their way to signing with Alabama on Wednesday, but there is still some uncertainty about what Bogle and Williams will decide to do.

Williams has taken visits to several schools down the stretch. He visited Texas and Miami in January but did not take an expected visit to Tuscaloosa. He visited LSU this weekend.

The biggest competitors for Bogle’s signature is his home-state schools, Miami and Florida. The Hurricanes have continued to push for Bogle and got him on campus this weekend, which can be huge for Canes and not so good for the Tide. He visited the Gators on Jan. 25.

Alabama’s remaining targets have given Alabama some good news. Henry To’oto’o (4-Star LB), Brett Seither (3-Star TE) and Ishmael Sopsher (4-Star LB) are heavily considering the Tide going into Wednesday.

Nick Saban and Alabama’s special team’s coach, Jeff Banks, have pulled out all the stops for Seither. They got him on campus on Jan. 25 for an official visit and have been to his home to visit more than twice over the span of three weeks, but so has the likes of Georgia and a handful of other schools. Alabama was listed in his top 5 on Jan. 24.

To’oto’o took a visit to Alabama last weekend. His visit looks like it went well as the Tide were included in his top three on Saturday. He will make his decision live on ESPN on Wednesday.

Alabama and LSU have battled down to the wire for Sopsher and the end of the battle is approaching. The Tigers may have secured a win in this matchup when they offered Sopsher’s brother, Rodney Sopsher. Ishmael Sopsher has going on record many times saying that he was only going to a school that would take his brother also and Alabama has not offered Rodney.

The Tide’s last official visitors before Wednesday also offer some interesting storylines. Nathan Pickering was expected in Tuscaloosa this weekend but changed his plans. Quayshon Fuller (4-Star DL), Jaquez Sorrells (4-Star DL) and Jerrion Ealy (5-Star RB) visited Alabama this weekend. The Tide may have some surprises in store and do not be surprised if it is with one of these guys.
