Cyrus Kouandjio Update

USA Today Sports Wire

2:45 P.M. UPDATE: According to a new report, Cyrus did not in fact tell the officer ‘shoot me’.

According to reports, former Alabama offensive-tackle Cyrus Kouandjio was found half-naked in a field after apparently climbing an electric fence. When the deputy came forward to subdue Kouandjio, the 6-7, 323 pound NFL lineman told the man: “shoot me”.

Cyrus was selected in the second round – 44th overall – in the 2014 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills. At Alabama, he was a two-year starter at left tackle and was deemed a consensus All-American in 2013.

Though Cyrus was not arrested, he was transported to Erie County Medical Center for a physical and psychological evaluation. No new information on his state of well-being has been released at this time.

The Bills are are aware of this unusual event and released a statement acknowledging the happenings and adding that they had nothing else to say until they received more information.

This all comes after a ‘non-football related injury’ caused him to need surgery. Kouandjio claimed to have fallen down at his home injuring his hip in the process.
