Many eyes will be on quarterback DeShone Kizer and defensive end Myles Garrett as the Cleveland Browns kickoff its NFL preseason schedule on Thursday versus New Orleans, but a certain California native intends to generate his own buzz at the wide receiver position.
After being released from the Houston Texans and Dallas Cowboys, Richard Mullaney was signed by the Cleveland Browns. He was not selected in the 2016 NFL Draft, despite having a 1,000-yard career at Oregon State University and helping the University of Alabama capture a College Football Playoff National Championship in the 2015 season. He was one of Jacob Coker’s favorite targets, reeling in 38 passes for 390 receiving yards and five touchdowns.
Per an unofficial depth chart released by the Browns on Monday, the 6’3″ wide out is listing as the fourth string guy – following Rannell Hall, Josh Boyce, Rashard Higgins and the expected No. 1 target, Corey Coleman. He’s made quite a few plays in training camp; however, Mullaney knows there’s more work to be done if he wants to crack the Browns’ starting roster.

Cleveland will host New Orleans inside FirstEnergy Stadium at 7:00 p.m.
