PODCAST: What Nick Saban, Alabama is getting with Dan Enos at QB coach

Alabama looks to soar offensively next season and while much of its success falls on play caller Michael Locksley, the hire of Dan Enos at quarterback coach will be an impact role on the development of Jalen Hurts, Tua Tagovailoa, Mac Jones and Layne Hatcher (2018 commit).

Enos, a former quarterback at Michigan State University (1987-91), has coached multiple players at the position to the National Football League – including Ryan Radcliff, Cooper Rush, Brandon Allen and Austin Allen. As a running backs coach for the Spartans from 2007 to 2009, he produced a 1,000-yard rusher in Javon Ringer (1,637 in 2008) and a good signal-caller in Kirk Cousins (19 touchdowns, 9 interceptions in 2009).

While his wife and children are adjusting to life in Tuscaloosa, Ala., Enos brother – Gary – joined yours truly of Touchdown Alabama Magazine on Monday for In My Own Words and discussed the impact Dan will provide.

Although Tagovailoa is the favorite to win the job at quarterback, Enos believes there remains hope for Hurts and dives into how his brother will grow him into being the complete package under center.

In Nick Saban’s final season as defensive coordinator/defensive backs coach at Michigan State (1987), Enos was a scout team quarterback for the program.

The reunion of both guys should be interesting. Be sure to subscribe to the TDAL Magazine YouTube channel for the best in analysis, updates and commentary on Alabama football.
