Alabama’s Remaining Tight End Targets.

Jahleel Billingsley committed to Alabama on Friday and became the Tide’s first tight end commit in the 2019 recruiting class. Alabama wants to possibly add two tight ends this class, according to sources. This number is in large part due to the fact that the Tide landed only one tight end during the last recruiting cycle, which was 3-Star, Michael Parker.

Alabama currently has six tight ends on their roster. Hale Henges is the only senior tight end, meaning that there will not be any pressure to play early for the tight ends Alabama pulls in this recruiting cycle. So who is Alabama targeting from here on out? Here is a break down of those guys that you should keep an eye out for.

Keon Zipperer

Alabama offered Keon Zipperer in April. The Tide are hoping to get him on campus soon for a visit and so is a handful of other schools. He is showing interest in the Tide which is a win.  The Lakeland, Florida product is a physical tight end with a great pair of hands. He doesn’t have breakaway speed but makes up for it with a tenacious and powerful style of running. His aggressiveness aids him when he is called upon to block in the run game. A commitment from him would give the Tide two elite tight ends.

Garmon Randolph

Alabama has a bit of work to do with Randolph. The Tide offered him in June and were fortunate to get him to campus a couple of days later. At 6-feet-6-inches and 215 pounds, the quarterback can just throw the ball up and watch this guy go and get it. He is a defensive matchup nightmare for shorter defenders. He also has decent speed in the open field and doesn’t mind getting dirty in the trenches.

CorMontae Hamilton

Alabama offered Hamilton after a great camp workout in June. One look at Hamilton and you may think he plays on the defensive side of the ball. He stands at 6-feet-1-inch and weighs 256 pounds. His size makes him an excellent weapon when its time to run the ball. He is very athletic for a guy his size. The Tide will be getting a special talent if they can land Hamilton.

Alabama’s 2019 recruiting class still sits at the top of the national rankings and look to keep hold of the top spot.  Touchdown Alabama Magazine will keep you updated.
