Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa creating fear for LSU, national media

We have seen the battle of who put up the best billboard, fans of Louisiana State University letting their true feeling be known about a certain quarterback and national media become all the more upset with Alabama’s dominance. The trio of events have been made possible due to the performance of sophomore quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and how he continues to impress.

A native of Hawaii, the former five-star is setting school records and has not tossed an interception in 152 consecutive passes. When it comes to signal callers in the Southeastern Conference, Tagovailoa is leading the pack in completion percentage (70.4%), yards per attempt (13.6), touchdown passes (25) and passer rating (238.8). His efficiency has rubbed off on the Crimson Tide’s offensive line, seeing how he’s only been sacked three times – the least amount in the conference. As for national statistics, Tagovailoa’s razor sharp accuracy has his first in college football for raw quarterback rating and total quarterback rating at 97.3.

Behind him, Tide fans are experiencing the most explosive offense of the Nick Saban era and probably the best display of talent on a national scale. Tagovailoa has guided the team to an average of 54.1 points and 564.3 yards offensively through eight regular season games.

National media has always wanted a level playing field; however, the masterful play of Tagovailoa took that away and it’s not happy. Opposing fans in the SEC, including LSU and Tennessee, loathe Alabama so much that they are calling for the injury of Tagovailoa.

Ever confident, the Heisman frontrunner is ready to face the Tigers on Saturday.

Should he continue providing chart-topping numbers, it would be in the best interest for the Heisman Trust committee to go ahead and file it in for Tagovailoa. He is currently six scoring tosses shy of re-writing Alabama’s single-season mark that is held by AJ McCarron (30).

In this edition of In My Own Words, yours truly of Touchdown Alabama Magazine goes inside the fear Tagovailoa has placed on the media and LSU and how Tide fans rejoice in having something it has always wanted.
