Alabama’s 2020 recruiting class is on fire and the Tide’s 2020 tight end commit, Caden Clark, knows why.

“I think it’s awesome to see what winning does,” Clark said. “Everybody wants to come to Alabama because they are the best and that is why I am going. If you think you are the best player and you think you want to make it to the big time; you want to play for Alabama.”

Clark committed to Alabama in July. He weighed a ton of factors when contemplating his decision and then he saw a video of Tide tight end, Irv Smith, before the season.

“Honestly, I saw the way they were using their tight ends,” Clark said. “Before the season even started, Coach (Jeff) Banks and I sat down and watch tape on how they were using Irv Smith in practice. He told me that I had a similar build and I’ll be used in the same way. My dad was like where else is there to wait for and I talk to coach Saban about committing.”

Tua Tagovailoa has turned Alabama’s offense into an transcended one. Tide tight ends, Irv Smith and Hale Hentges, are catching passes left to right. Smith has caught 35 passes for 613 yards and seven touchdowns this season. Hentges has also caught two touchdown passes.

Clark has paid attention to the impact Tagovailoa has had on Alabama’s entire offense this season.

“It shows how great Tua is,” Clark said. “He took two of the best tight ends in the country and turned them into pass catchers. They were great before, but they were not used due to Alabama running the ball. It shows what a great quarterback could do. Alabama had a guy like O.J.  Howard and he didn’t do much. He is now in the NFL showing what all he can do and that is the type of guys Alabama gets. I want to be the next great one.”

Alabama’s dynasty is well documented. A 30 for 30 ESPN series is going to come and several other documentaries will be created to show what Alabama did during this historical run. Every one of them will start by talking about the great job Nick Sabanand his staff did recruiting. Clark has seen the effect that Alabama’s success has had on the entire nation.

“When I went to Alabama, every single player talked about how great of man Saban is,” Clark added. “They talked about him like he is the President. When I went to every other school, no other team talked about their coach in that way.”

Clark also noticed how every other program is striving to be like the Tide.

“Every other school compared themselves to Alabama,” Clark said. “They said we have this and Alabama has that. I spent an entire 45 minutes talking to Saban and he didn’t say a single word about another school.”

The Tide’s 2020 class now has eleven commits. Every position group except offensive line has at least one verbal commit.
