For the Seattle Seahawks and head coach Pete Caroll, the piece needed to get back to a Super Bowl and win may have just been acquired.

Bo Scarbrough, former Alabama running back, was signed to Seattle from the Jacksonville Jaguars’ practice squad on Tuesday – according to news from NFL insider Ian Rapoport.

The 6-foot-1, 228-pounder was compared to Derrick Henry during his time with the Crimson Tide and while the Tuscaloosa native did not live all the way to his hype, Scarbrough turned in some impressive numbers through three seasons.

His career ended with 1,512 yards rushing and 20 touchdowns on 267 carries, with his finest performance coming as a sophomore in 2016.

After enrolling at Alabama with a knee injury in 2015, Scarbrough returned to full strength late in the following year and pounded opposing defenses. He surged for 812 rushing yards with 11 scores on 125 carries, including a bowl-record of 180 yards and two touchdowns on 19 attempts in the Tide’s 24-7 win over Washington in the College Football Playoff semifinal (Peach Bowl).

Scarbrough would go on to test very well in the NFL Scouting Combine, posting a 40-time of 4.52 seconds and displayed a 40” vertical. He was selected in the seventh round of this year’s draft by the Dallas Cowboys; however, an injury led to him being released from the team.

He spent a moment the with Jaguars’ practice squad, but joining Seattle may be the break Scarbrough needs for his confidence. In its two Super Bowl runs in 2013 and 2014, the Seahawks had a fierce rushing attack.

Marshawn Lynch was a two-time 1,000-yard running back and had a persona that no defensive player wanted to attack.Since his departure, the franchise has struggled to find one back to put it all together and take pressure off Russell Wilson.

Currently, it carries Chris Carson, Mike Davis and rookie Rashaad Penny on the roster.
