Alabama CB Patrick Surtain II ready for marquee CFP title game performance

Marvin Gentry - USA TODAY Sports

Regardless of the criticism from social media, he did not have a poor performance against Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl to end 2018. Alabama’s freshman cornerback, Patrick Surtain II defended Sooners’ receiver Ceedee Lamb fairly well, but perfectly placed throws from Kyler Murray made the difference.

A five-star from Plantation, Fla., Surtain eyes a bounce back outing at Levi’s Stadium on Monday night as the Crimson Tide faces Clemson for a national championship. He earned recognition for a third All-Freshman Team, seeing how the Southeastern Conference, Associated Press and Football Writers Association of America all like Surtain.

He accounts for 36 total tackles, six pass breakups and one interception; however, he wants to prove critics wrong.
