Alabama’s 2019 recruiting class is pretty much in the bag and it is never too early to begin looking ahead when it comes to recruiting.
The Tide’s 2020 class is quickly staking their claim as one of the top classes in the nation with 10 verbal commits. This class consists of one 5-Star, seven 4-Stars and two 3-Stars. There are two wide receivers, two defensive backs, three defensive linemen, one tight end, one running back and one linebacker verbally committed to Alabama in this class.
Javier Morton and Malachi Moore are the Tide’s 2019 defensive back commits. Both are 4-Star recruits. Moore is a bit of an old school cornerback at 5-10, who likes to play a bump and run style coverage. Morton is an athletic defensive back, who is a weapon as a kick returner.
Dazalin Worsham and Javon Baker are the Tide’s wide receiver commits. Worsham has caught many people’s attention with his crisp routes, soft hands and his similarities to Alabama’s current wide receivers. Baker is a wide receiver with a go and get it mentality. He thrives in jump ball situations.
The Tide’s trio of defensive line commits are Jayson Elijah Jones, Chris Braswell and Jah-Marien Latham. Braswell is a 5-Star defensive end and is a product of the same high school current Alabama players: Eyabi Anoma, Shane Lee and Darrian Dalcourt attended. Braswell has a similar playing style to Anoma with his long arms and long frame. Jones is an inside defensive lineman, who knows how to use his size to rip pass blockers and plug up holes. Latham can line up at the defensive end position as well as play defensive tackle. He is very quick on his feet and has the speed to set the edge,
Williams is Alabama’s running back commit and he did pretty much everything in his junior season. He rushed for touchdowns, caught touchdown passes and return kicks and punts for scores. He is definitely one of the top running backs in the nation. His speed makes him very dangerous in the open field.
Caden Clark committed to the Tide with the belief that Alabama is going to revolutionize the tight end position in their offense in the future. Clark has the ability to be a weapon as a receiving tight end as well as produce in the run block game.
Bratton is the Tide’s lone linebacker commit. He plays inside linebacker for Muscle Shoals and controls their defense from that position. He is comfortable in pass coverage and knows how to adjust and come downhill to make tackles on runners.
Carson beck’s de-commitment has left Alabama’s 2020 recruiting class without a quarterback, but it is safe to say that Saban and company will make it a priority to bring in at least one elite 2020 quarterback. This class will most likely remain as one of the top in the nation throughout the 2020 recruiting cycle.
