In case you haven’t noticed, Alabama wide receiver Henry Ruggs III can fly. It’s one of the ways he was able to carve out a role in the offense so quickly when he arrived in Tuscaloosa and it’s served the team very well.

But his speed isn’t just impressive.

It’s special.

One the first from scrimmage against New Mexico State last Saturday, Ruggs took a bubble screen pass which was later listed as a carry, 75-yards to the house. After Ruggs hit the burners Catapult Sports decided to look into just how fast the junior receiver was moving on the play.

The results were above average, to say the least.

An average human runs roughly 15 miles per hour making this play a doozy for all of us who struggle to quickly get the paper in the morning. It’s also a nightmare for defenses when number eleven is allowed to get the ball in open space.

After having a bit of a quiet game against Duke, Ruggs definitely got involved early and is just another dimension of Alabama’s offense which teams will struggle to contain.
