Phidarian Mathis, a native of Wisner, La., became a father on Saturday morning to a baby girl.
Kyle Rae Mathis was born at 10:17 a.m. and throughout the process, the Alabama defensive lineman has documented each moment.
Mathis posted a video to Twitter of the doctor cutting the umbilical cord off his daughter, as she entered the world.

This moment provides huge motivation for him.
Mathis will enter his redshirt junior year in the fall, and it is a chance for him to create a draft status for himself. He entered the University of Alabama as a four-star in the 2017 recruiting class and posted 45 tackles in 27 games.
The 6-foot-4, 312-pounder had 27 tackles last season with two quarterback hurries and one forced fumble.

He can play at either defensive tackle or defensive end; however, it is time for him to become a force along the front line.
