Elliot Washington announced his commitment to Alabama Monday via Twitter, becoming the Crimson Tide’s first 2023 commit.
Washington is a product of Venice High School in Venice, Florida. He announced his commitment decision after visiting the Crimson Tide Saturday. He told Touchdown Alabama the visit gave him an opportunity to get to know Nick Saban a little bit more.
“I had a good talk with coach Saban,” Washington said. “He talked about the program and the expectations at Alabama. He is very detailed. You can tell he wants to get the most out of each player in the program.”
The new Alabama commit helped Venice High School win a state championship during the 2021 football season. At 6-foot-1 and 190 pounds, Washington possesses a thick frame and is projected to be a safety at the next level. He made plays on special teams and on the defensive side of the football last season.
