Jay Lindsey was named the AISA lineman of the year on Tuesday.
Lindsey is a 2024 tight end signee for Alabama out of Patrician Academy in Butler, Alabama. He is listed as a three-star recruit on multiple recruiting sites, but he has the potential to outperform his high school rating in the future.
The Lineman of the Year award is typically given annually to the best offensive or defensive lineman in a classification. The Alabama signee most likely won the award because of his contribution as an edge defender and as a blocker as a tight end.
The in-state recruit is a physical and dominant blocker at tight end. He also possesses a nice vertical, which allows him to go up and pull down contested catches. His strong frame makes him tough to bring down after the catch.
