Alabama football held its own media day on Saturday, and it appears as if the Crimson Tide were sporting slightly altered home jerseys.

The script A in top center of the jersey near the collar was replaced by the SEC logo, leaving a spot open on the right side of the jersey near the shoulder where a patch of SEC logo had been for years.

It is unknown if this is a permanent change.

The rumor mill speculates that this change happened because the Crimson Tide are possibly looking to put a sponsor’s logo on the jersey.

Teams like Wisconsin, Vanderbilt, Ohio State and more have already added a jersey patch featuring a sponsor’s logo.

Alabama football kicks off their season on Sept. 5, but the addition of a sponsor’s jersey patch could possibly happen between now and then.
