Jayson Elijah Jones has officially announced his verbal commitment to Alabama.

The Commitment: Jayson Jones

Jones was set to announce his commitment on July 4 with Georgia leading the pack but after a great A-Day visit and several trips to Tuscaloosa, Alabama was able to secure his commitment after he pushed his commitment date up.

The Calera-product has become the Tide’s fifth commit in the 2020 recruiting class. He expressed to yours truly that communication was going to be a  huge priority in his recruitment and the Tide did a wonderful job at staying in contact with Jones. He would constantly be the first player to talk to Nick Saban and Tosh Lupoi doing his visits.

Alabama is getting a kid with a ton of potiental. He is massive at 6-feet-5-inches and 322 Pounds and he knows how to use his size to wreck havoc on the defensive side of the ball. There is also still time for him to grow as a player as he is only a rising Junior.

Jomes is ranked as the No.1 player in the state of Alabama for the 2020 recruiting class. Similar to the Tide’s 2019 recruiting class, their 2020 class is majority in-state players. This class already has a linbacker commit, quarterback commit, defensive back commit, a wide receiver commit and now a defensive lineman commit. Alabama will look to build off this great start.
