Carolina Panthers release ex-Alabama wide receiver Kevin Norwood

Jim Brown - USA TODAY Sports

Despite catching a touchdown pass during NFL preseason, wide receiver Kevin Norwood is on the move once again for a new team. According to Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times, Norwood (hip) was released from the Carolina Panthers’ injury reserve on Friday—freeing him to sign with another team. He was taken in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks, prior to being traded to Carolina on Aug. 30, 2015.

Norwood was a standout in five seasons at Alabama (2009-13), totaling 81 catches for 1,275 yards and 12 touchdowns. He was a member on three national championship squads, including one as a redshirt (2009).
