Just when you thought Alabama coach Nick Saban was the best game planner in the history of sports, he does it again and one ups the competition. It was learned that this week, former record-setting Tide quarterback Blake Sims played the role of Texas A&M quarterback Trevor Knight for the scout team.
While the Tide are favorites in this game, Saban is not taking any chances and used a strategy that not many teams choose in asking a former player to contribute during the season. However, with the Aggies being a SEC West opponent, Saban and the Tide are not taking any chances and look to go into their Bye week unscathed.
While the Alabama defense has proven to this point its status as elite, having the likes of Sims getting them ready should serve them well. If this decision works in his favor, Saban will once again prove he’s smarter than the average bear (no pun intended).
