Alabama football held its first practice of fall camp on Monday at Thomas Drew Field and despite media not being allowed in -- due to Coronavirus concerns -- yours truly of Touchdown Alabama Magazine got the inside scoop from credible sources.

Listed below are a few notes.

-Alabama's quarterback room -- Mac Jones, Bryce Young and Paul Tyson -- each had 100 reps.

-According to credible sources, there were "a ton" of passes thrown as offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian looks to continue being explosive while achieving a balance.

-Paul Tyson lit it up in the second-team drills at quarterback.

-The redshirt freshman has a chemistry with Slade Bolden, Xavier Williams and Cameron Latu.

-Devonta Smith and Jaylen Waddle are the leaders in the wide receiver room, but my sources have their eyes on Bolden and mentioned him as a "great route runner" and someone that "catches everything." Bolden, a native of West Monroe, La., was the Gatorade Player of the Year for Louisiana in 2017. He arrived at Alabama as a three-star prospect in the 2018 class.

-One source, in particular, said Bolden is the receiver he is "highlighting" this year.

-Latu, who also came in 2018, is excelling at tight end. The 6-foot-5, 250-pounder looks the part and is currently running second-team, behind Miller Forristall. He is another player to keep all eyes on in this upcoming season.

-When it comes to the true freshmen on offense, Javon Baker has been the most impressive one.

-He was great in the preseason practice program and looked really good on Monday.

-At running back, Trey Sanders is catching all attention after Najee Harris.

-After missing last season with an injury, the native Floridian has regained his burst.

-Upon describing him to me, sources say Sanders is the one that "jumps out" at practice and that at some point he will be a primary running back. Another source compared Sanders to former Auburn star, Carnell "Cadillac" Williams.

-On the defensive line, the main three guys are Christian Barmore, DJ Dale and LaBryan Ray.

-He sported No. 89 for three years (since 2017), but Ray has switched to No. 18.

-In looking at the linebackers, the main four right now are Christian Harris, Dylan Moses, Ben Davis and Christopher Allen in position to start in Alabama's base 3-4 defensive alignment.

with Tucker coming in and Latu hitting his stride combined with

a healthy Forristall the TE’s could be great again !

Absolutely. Latu is the real deal and Tucker has big experience coming from North Carolina.  A healthy Forristall provides Alabama with a strong tight end room.

last spring game I thought Latu did very well.   He didnt play much

last year so maybe His blocking was lacking.
