Of course I thought it was a class move by Saban at his press conference not to demean our upcoming opponent by refusing to say that the game was not worth Tua Tagovailoa actually playing in, but come on guys, it should be a cameo appearance at best, and Jalen should really not play either......It is simply not worth the risk in a game like that....I say start Mac Jones, and if he cannot move the offense at all (highly unlikely scenario against the Bulldogs) then you put in Jalen if he's able to play or Tua for a short period of time to get something going...Otherwise, you should save both for the Iron Bowl.. Of course Saban doesn't need my help making coaching decisions, but just my view..
I agree with you buddy. Alabama has already locked up the SEC West and has its ticket punched for Atlanta to face Georgia. This matchup means nothing for Tua Tagovailoa to start in and what you can in this contest is minimum. The only way Mac Jones is going to improve is with game reps and if he is not comfortable, then play Jalen Hurts. Starting Tagovailoa in this game and risking an injury, puts you in a more precarious spot.Â
Great minds think alike, Stephen M Smith 🙂
