He was a three-star from Louisiana (Slidell) in the 2018 recruiting cycle, but Eddie Smith's abilities as a safety are more impressive than his rating. The 6-foot, 184-pounder has explosive ball skills and did record an interception off Taulia Tagovailoa on A-Day (granted the throw from Lia was off).
Anyway, according to Henry Ruggs III, Smith is the most instinctive defensive back he has ever faced in practice. This is high praise coming from a receiver that's projected to be a Top-20 pick in next year's NFL Draft.
Where do you guys see Eddie Smith fitting in Bama's secondary?
How much playing time does he next season?
