Not to many people’s surprise, Hoover, AL corner Marlon Humphrey committed to Alabama yesterday. In very low-key fashion, Humphrey ended a long recruiting battle between the Crimson Tide and Florida State via his Twitter account. Humphrey, the number 1 rated corner on many recruiting sites, is the son of former Alabama star Bobby Humphrey. Many figured he would end up with the Tide, but Humphrey continued to hold his decision very close to the vest. The 6’1 175 lb speedster defensive back has the ideal size to fit right in to the college db role. He will also run track for Alabama along with fellow Alabama commitment Tony Brown. Humphrey and Brown, the top 2 corners in the 2014 class, could be a dominant tandem down the line. They will both get serious consideration to make an early impact. Deion Belue is gone and the number 2 corner spot was a revolving door in 2013. Chalk up another recruiting victory for Nick Saban adding another much needed piece to one of the greatest recruiting classes in Alabama history.
