Good but not good enough for the win and at least they didn’t lose to Auburn. (Photo Mark Ingram Tweet)
Saban and Ingram Good Golf Partners

After having the time to get to know Nick Saban, I can tell you if it’s something, anything that he’s involved in, he wants to win. He gets that from his father who instilled in him the quality that if you’re going to do something, do it well. But on this day, being good wasn’t good enough.
Yesterday finished the Chik Fil A Bowl Golf Challenge were coaches and an alumni are invited to play for scholarship money for their respective schools and while Saban and former Alabama running back Mark Ingram didn’t win, they did tie for fourth with a very respectable 7 under par score.
While they weren’t anywhere near the winning score, put up by now three time champions of the event, Ga. Tech’s coach Paul Johnson and Jon Barry, at least the didn’t lose to Auburn which is something no one representing the Crimson Tide wants to do. Gus Malzahn and Bo Jackson tied with the pair from Alabama.
In a tweet, Mark Ingram showed his frustration by saying,
Mark Ingram @MarkIngram22 23h
Me and and coach Saban at @chickfilabowl! We shot 7 under but missed 7 6 ft sliders for birdies smh!! #RollTide pic.twitter.com/Afjrhvme1Z
They did however manage to raise $30,000 for the scholarship fund at Alabama and according to both participants, had a fun time doing it.
