In case you missed it, Oakland Raiders first-round draft pick Amari Cooper is on a mission to be not only the best rookie wide receiver in his draft class, but the best wide receiver in the NFL — he just won’t tell you that.
In April, NIKE released a short commercial starring Cooper that embodied the former Alabama Crimson Tide receiver’s mantra of outworking the competition and doing it in ways they wouldn’t even think of. Like many athletes, Cooper was blessed with exceptional athleticism and skill, but the innate desire to be special is what separated him from his contemporaries and it showed greatly last season when he hauled in 124 REC, 1,727 YDS, and 16 TD’s — in just 14 games.
Just yesterday, Cooper reminded the world why he chose to allow NIKE to endorse him due to their simple slogan that has reigned supreme for years. He buffs the stereotype that wide receivers are spotlight, media-whore divas who take every opportunity to boast about their abilities. Not Cooper. He’s not built that way. He’d rather kill you in silence, leave you for dead, and let the media and others tell the world how he did it.
Even if you’ve never personally met Cooper, this tweet pretty much sums him up in a nutshell.
Never been a big fan of hype, I just want to do it, guess that's why I signed with Nike…

And if you haven’t seen the NIKE commercial, take a glance here, it’s definitely worth 25 seconds of your life.
