Quinnen Williams
Committed 6/30/2015
Position: Defensive Tackle
Hometown: Birmingham, Alabama
TDAL Star Rating: 4
Height: 6’4”
Weight: 265 LB.
Athletic Measurables:
Former Auburn and new Alabama commit Quinnen Williams is a big dude, there is no doubt about that. He has the perfect size to work on the inside and outside of the line, making him extremely versatile and hard for opposing coaches to plan for. He is not the fastest guy on the field, although he has shown explosive speed at times on film, he more than likely is the strongest player on field, if not one of them.
Instincts & Technique:
Williams is a guy with a lot of raw talent and could develop well when he gets to the next level in Tuscaloosa. He is extremely strong and uses that as the core of his game, he is a bull rusher with pretty good athleticism as far as getting to the ball carrier goes. He can move inside and outside and absolutely bully the lineman in front of him, and it is a pretty awesome sight to see. Even though his strategy works now, he needs to expand his moves and polish them to become successful at the next level. He doesn’t seem to have an arsenal of moves in his game, but like previously stated, it works for him now.
Strengths & Weaknesses:
Strengths: Williams has great strength and underrated athleticism, which will eventually help him at the next level. If he can put on another 15 pounds, he would fit perfectly as that inside-outside guy for Kirby Smart.
Weaknesses: He needs to find more ways to get to the ball carrier other than bull rushing because that will not work every time with bigger, stronger SEC offensive lineman.
Reminds me of: Williams has the versatility of Jarran Reed but is closer to the size of Da’Shawn Hand
