Ex-Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy will be doing a lot of site seeing this fall as the latest member of “SEC Nation.” He will join the likes of host Joe Tessitore, former LSU standout and analyst Marcus Spears and college football radio Paul Finebaum, as the traveling football pre-game crew for SEC Network.

McElroy became a part of the network in August 2014, after announcing his retirement from the National Football League. He was an in-studio analyst last season and impressed many with his knowledge, poise and camera presence. According to Creg Stephenson, writer for al.com., ESPN’s senior vice president Stephanie Druley said McElroy “brings a wealth of X and O’s accumen, as well as a deep knowledge of the history and traditions of the conference.”

McElroy is replacing former analyst Tim Tebow, who is now in the NFL with the Philadelphia Eagles. He played at Alabama from 2006-10. McElroy navigated the Crimson Tide to a Southeastern Conference championship and a national title in 2009.
