San Francisco improved to 2-2 in preseason play and 2-0 at home, after its 14-12 victory over San Diego Thursday night. 49ers’ wide receiver DeAndrew White was in sync with backup quarterback Dylan Thompson. He was targeted four times, totaling 77 yards on three catches.
The former Alabama standout averaged 25.7 yards per catch, and brought in a 36-yard pass in the fourth quarter that helped set up a touchdown. White was not selected in the 2015 NFL Draft, yet he’s looked sharp in rookie minicamp, training camp and preseason.
Anquan Boldin, Vernon Davis and Torrey Smith are veteran players, but it seems like White will be a part of San Francisco’s 53-man roster. He and Bruce Ellington make a solid tandem.
