With fans entering into AT&T Stadium and kickoff an less than hour away, here are some final thoughts live from Arlington.
As fellow TDAL writer Stephen M. Smith noted earlier in his preview of Alabama vs. Wisconsin ““Finish” is Alabama’s goal this year, after suffering two consecutive postseason losses.” Finish doesn’t only mean finishing the game it means finishing every play.
Watching the Crimson Tide take the field all summer and during warm-ups tonight you can see that the “finishing” mentality has been pick up by everyone on the team. The Tide enter this game looking to stay undefeated in season openers under coach Nick Saban.
Saban and the Crimson Tide defense have been under criticism all summer long will look to silence all the doubters. Look for the defensive backfield who look very athletic this season to create at least one turnover in the first half.
For Wisconsin Michael Deiter will be the biggest question mark will be on the offensive line for the Badgers, as he will be making his first collegiate start. Hayden Biegel a sophomore with very limited amount of playing time in the past another Badger who will be making his first career start on Saturday as well.
The running game will be key and first year starter Corey Clement looks as prepared as anyone to show that he can take the Badgers to the next level. Clement has shown better speed than previously believed in pregame and that is something the Crimson Tide can’t ignore.
In this contest tonight look for both teams to try and make the first statement to gain momentum not only for the remainder of this game but for the rest of the season as well.
Final Prediction
Alabama 34 Wisconsin 14
