Potential weather conditions forced Alabama to practice indoors Wednesday for the third day in preparation to face Middle Tennessee State on Saturday.

Notes from Wednesday’s Practice

  • Derrick Henry and Kenyan Drake led the running back drills followed by Damien Harris and suspended Bo Scarbrough.
  • The offensive line looked the same through drills, (Robinson, Taylor, Kelly, Pierschbacher, Jackson)
  • Lane Kiffin was working with the QBs and receivers. Robert Foster and ArDarius Stewart led the drills followed by Richard Mullaney and freshman Calvin Ridley.
  • This QB battle is far from over as Jacob Coker and Cooper Bateman took the heavy reps in drills.
    • Coker looked good throwing the out route and out of play action.
    • Bateman also threw the deep ball with good touch but had some inconsistency on the out route.
  • The defensive backs were led by Geno Matias-Smith and Cyrus Jackson followed by Eddie Jackson and Tony Brown. Marlon Humphrey and Minkah Fitzpatrick also were going head to head in drills. The defensive backs were working on avoiding chop hits at the legs.
  • The defensive line and linebackers looked good as expected, no changes there.
