Alabama lost a heart-breaker to Ole Miss by a score of 37-43, but the coaching staff was able to recognize six individuals as honorees for player of the week. Derrick Henry and Richard Mullaney got the nod on offense, A’Shawn Robinson and Jarran Reed were represented on defense and Adam Griffith and Tony Brown were honorees on special teams.

Henry has been recognized for offensive player of the week for a third straight time.

The junior recorded 127 rushing yards and a touchdown on 23 carries. His score came on a two-yard run in the fourth quarter. Henry is now tied with LSU’s Leonard Fournette with seven rushing touchdowns (leads NCAA). He has 370 rushing yards, averaging 6.9 yards per carry.

Mullaney’s performance against Mississippi was solid, earning him an award.

The senior caught seven passes for 61 yards, both were career bests in an Alabama uniform. Mullaney’s first career touchdown came on a 9-yard reception from Jake Coker in the fourth quarter. He’s totaled 10 receptions for 106 yards and two touchdowns in three games.

Defensive linemen A’Shawn Robinson and Jarran Reed were honorees together for a second time in a row. Robinson chimed in with three tackles, while Reed had five stops and a quarterback hurry against Mississippi. Both held Ole Miss to 2.9 yards per carry.

Adam Griffith and Tony Brown both made critical plays on special teams.

Griffith connected on a 20-yard field goal in the second quarter, and averaged 56.0 yards on six kickoffs. He executed a perfect onside kick late in the fourth quarter that was recovered by sophomore cornerback Tony Brown. Brown is an honoree on special teams for a second straight week. He collected a huge tackle on kickoff coverage in the fourth quarter.
