Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Baker Mayfield and Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliott can just keep their pants on.
Alabama running back Derrick Henry has this year’s Heisman Trophy by the neck and did not let up against Charleston Southern. The junior accounted for two touchdowns.
Henry’s two scores against the Buccaneers tie him with former Crimson Tide back Trent Richardson for most in a season (21).
Both of his scores came in the first quarter on runs of 17 and two yards, giving Alabama a 14-0 advantage. He averaged 7.6 yards per carry, totaling 68 rushing yards on nine carries.
Henry and Alabama improved to 10-1 after its 56-6 win over the Buccaneers. It will face the Auburn Tigers next week.
