Athletic Measurables

Charles Baldwin is ranked as the #2 JUCO player in the nation and the #1 offensive tackle and he definitely looks the part. Built like the prototypical college tackles, he already possesses the size to excel at the next level, but he also has the ability to move his feet well and maintain great body control to create holes for the backs. With some slight polishing to his game, Baldwin can be another dominant tackle in the Alabama system.

Instincts & Technique

Baldwin has decent instincts, although he needs to work on his hand placement, he has a good pop out of his stance and a good feel for protecting that blind side. He has good footwork and length, very ideal for a guy coming in at his position. After another year in JUCO, his technique should be at the level needed to come in and see the field.

Strengths & Weaknesses

Strengths: Baldwin moves well for a big guy and really can get out of his stance to get to his block quickly. His size allows him to build a bit on that frame and really become dominant with it.

Weaknesses: He needs to polish his games as far as hand placement goes, on the big stage they are not afraid to call you for a hold and that’s the last thing you want Saban in your ear about.

Reminds Me Of:

Charles Baldwin seems to be just like Dominick Jackson in size and technique and is almost setting himself up for the same situation. Once he polishes his game in JUCO, he should have the opportunity to get on the field and compete, just as Dominick Jackson is doing now.
