Official Report: Alabama QB Alec Morris transferring to North Texas

Cedric Mason- Touchdown Alabama Magazine

Former Allen (Texas) High School standout Alec Morris is heading back home.

Reports concerning a possible transfer circled the Alabama quarterback during the team’s week of preparation for Michigan State. Morris, a former three-star recruit, confirmed all rumors Tuesday. He is set to attend the University of North Texas.

Morris, 6-foot-3, 233 pounds, was in the heat of a very intense quarterback battle prior to the 2015 season. He stayed in the race for much of summer and fall practice before falling behind Cooper Bateman and the eventual winner, Jacob Coker.

He totaled one pass of six yards in eight games at Alabama, despite being a part of three Southeastern Conference titles and two national championships.
