A change of scenery appears to be all that was needed for a player who was once known as the “Tiger killer.” Ex-Alabama wide receiver Kevin Norwood brought in his first career touchdown reception Saturday against Tennessee in a week two preseason game for the Carolina Panthers.

He hauled in an eight-yard strike from quarterback Derek Anderson in the third quarter, giving Carolina a 20-13 lead. Norwood finished the game with three catches for 31 yards and a score.
The former three-time national champion (2009, 2011-12) was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft. Being traded from the Seahawks to the Panthers in August of 2015 wasn’t the happiest moment for Norwood, nevertheless, he is making the most of it.
His career at Alabama (2009-13) ended with 1,275 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns on 81 catches. Injuries have played a role in Norwood’s limit action thus far; however, he can have a successful career if he manages to stay healthy and grow with the likes of Cameron Newton.
