Alabama fans have gone from being unsure, to climbing on board the bandwagon that is Jalen Hurts. Hurts, a native of Channelview, Texas, has been solid through six games, displaying leadership, toughness and good mechanics in both run and pass game. After enduring a hostile environment at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium (Ole Miss), Hurts kept his cool and guided the Crimson Tide to a 49-30 win over Arkansas on last week.

He completed 13 of 17 passes (76.5 percent) for 253 yards, while totaling four touchdowns. The Manning Award, which was created by the Allstate Sugar Bowl, has been documenting Hurts’ progress.

He was added to the watch list this week, following his game against the Razorbacks.

The 6-foot-2, 210-pound quarterback has completed 97 of 152 attempts for 1,242 yards and 14 total scores to two interceptions. He faces a third tough environment on Saturday, as Alabama takes on Tennessee.
