TUSCALOOSA, Ala.– Linebacker Ryan Anderson was first and as of Tuesday, Alabama defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson and long snapper Cole Mazza both accepted invitations for the 2017 Reese’s Senior Bowl.
Tomlinson has been a valued starter, totaling 54 tackles.
He’s recorded 4.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, four pass breakups and seven quarterback hurries through 13 games. The McDonaugh, Ga., native is on a roster that leads the nation in total defense (248 ypg), rushing defense (63.4 ypg), scoring defense (11.8 ppg), defensive touchdowns (10) and defensive efficiency (98.0).
As a four-year starter, Mazza has never botched an attempt at long snapper.
He’s been perfect on 557 career snaps (field goals, extra points, punts), including 139 this season. Mazza and Tomlinson look to aid the Crimson Tide to a second national championship in the College Football Playoff era.
The Senior Bowl will unfold on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017 at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala.
