Alabama RB Bo Scarbrough to forgo 2017 NFL Draft, will return next season

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Some great news for Alabama fans.

Rumors started circulating regarding the future of sophomore running back Bo Scarbrough after this season, but according to NFL writer Chase Goodbread—Scarbrough is staying put.

The 6-foot-2, 228-pound back was the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl’s Offensive Player of the Game, following a performance in which he had 180 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 19 carries (9.5 average).

Despite his classification, Scarbrough was a member of the Crimson Tide’s 2014 signing class.

He’s decision to redshirt that year (academic issues) makes him eligible for the 2017 NFL Draft; however, the Tuscaloosa native has decided to return to school. With him now fully healthy and under a new offensive coordinator, Steve Sarkisian, Scarbrough can expect to have a much bigger role within the system.

Through 14 games, he’s totaled 719 rushing yards and nine scores on 109 carries.
