Longtime Alabama kicker Adam Griffith has finished his playing career at Alabama, and his departure left the team with a huge void to fill. The team had thought they had their kicker when three-star prospect Brandon Ruiz had committed to the Crimson Tide back in June.
That all changed when Ruiz decided to open back up his recruitment before committing to Arizona State just over a week ago. His sudden change in heart, yet again, left the Tide searching for answers on how to fill the void at kicker. Well, it looks like the Tide finally have their answer.
Three-star kicker Joseph Bulovas committed to Alabama earlier this morning. A much welcomed commitment for Nick Saban and the rest of the Alabama staff.
Bulovas is the nation’s No. 8 overall kicker, and he is rated a three-star prospect according to most major recruiting services. The Mandeville, Louisiana native was selected as an Army All-American, and he participated in the game back on January 7th.
He went 2/3 on field goals in that game — converting one from 49 yards out and another from 34 yards out as well. His lone miss was actually blocked. Bulovas was originally committed to Georgia Tech, but opened back up his recruitment on Monday after receiving interest from the Crimson Tide.
His commitment gives Alabama’s recruiting class a much needed boost. Bulovas has a chance to be a four-year starter for a perennial national championship contender.
