A change is in the making for Josh Jacobs.
The rising sophomore running back for Alabama football will don a new number in the coming fall, as he’s decided to switch from No. 25 to No. 8βhis number from McLain High School.

During his high school tenure, he totaled 5,372 yards and 56 touchdowns.
Jacobs turned in a near 600-yard rushing season (567) as a freshman, while recording four touchdowns on 85 carries. He averaged 6.7 yards per rush and 11.14 yards a catch, en route to helping Alabama secure its third straight Southeastern Conference title.Β Jacobs will be the fourth player to wear No. 8 for the Tide in the Nick Saban era, joining formerΒ players Julio Jones and Blake Barnett and current receiver Robert Foster (2013-15).
