Bama Football: Falkins cleared to transfer

Marvin Gentry-USA TODAY Sports

It appears that Alabama football may lose a wide receiver before spring practice.

Raheem Falkins, a redshirt junior, has been cleared by the University of Alabama compliance department to transfer to a new program. Listed at 6-foot-4 and 200 pounds, Falkins enrolled at Alabama as a four-star recruit in 2013 from G.W. Carver High School in New Orleans, La. Despite playing in 19 career games after redshirting in 2013, injuries and talent ahead of him has limited Falkins’ access to the field.

He did not record a catch as a Crimson Tide receiver.

Per a letter from UA’s compliance department, Falkins is free to transfer to anywhere outside of the Southeastern Conference and teams that are on the Crimson Tide’s non-conference schedule that includes: Florida State University, Louisville, Arkansas State, Fresno State and the University of Southern Mississippi.
