Florida State, Penn State, Texas, Nebraska, Ohio State and Notre Dame were the other 6 teams.
Griffith announced Alabama offered him on Monday. In just a couple days, Alabama has already become a major player in his recruiting. This move shows just how powerful the Tide are in the recruiting realm.
The IMG Academy star is a very talented player. He is one of those defensive backs that knows how to read the quarterback’s eyes and deceive him. One moment the quarterback thinks he has a wide open receiver and the next he has thrown a pass that has been picked off by Houston.
Griffith is also an aggressive corner that likes to put his hands on receivers to rough them up. He uses those first couple of yards to his advantage. Receivers really have to work to get free from here. This creates problems for quarterbacks. It gives defensive lineman some extra time to get off blocks and sack the quarterback. Alabama’s defensive line has proven that they do not need that much time to apply pressure.
ESPN and 24/7 Sports have him listed as a 4 star recruit. He is the #10 cornerback in the 2018 recruiting class per ESPN.
Alabama continues to be put into the mix for some very talented guys. Their recruiting could really start to picking up steam in the near future.
