Schedule announced for Alabama football’s annual open practice and fan day

TUSCALOOSA, Ala.– Alabama fans look forward to a lot of things where football is concerned, but of the two aspects that come without cost  — A-Day and open practice — one of them occurs on Aug. 5 at Bryant-Denny Stadium. 

According to a press release from UA’s athletic department of communications, the schedule for the Crimson Tide’s annual open practice and fan day has been announced. While the media will gather inside the Mal Moore Athletic facility at 10 a.m., to hear head coach Nick Saban and members of the staff, fans will enjoy a two-hour practice (2:30-4:30) and then get autographs signed by players and coaches at 4:45 p.m. At 1 p.m., the first 150 fans in line at Gate 25 will receive numbered color-coded wristbands for early entrance to the post-practice autograph session.

For the 150 people wearing those wristbands, they must the gate at 4 p.m. to start. 

Fans may enter the stadium beginning at 1:30 p.m., going through gates 9 and 19 to occupy the west side lower bowl (sections A-N). Following the two-hour practice, Saban will be available on the field for an autograph session.

The session will last for 45 minutes, and fans are allowed one signed item per individual. All Alabama merchandise will be sold on Saturday, Aug. 5 and 300 autographed posters commemorating this year’s roster will be given away.
