Before it suits up for Florida State at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on next week, the University of Alabama had 15 players named to the 2017 preseason All-SEC Team on Thursday via the league’s coaches.

Alabama’s league-high nine first-team selections were as follows:

QB Jalen Hurts

WR Calvin Ridley

OL Jonah Williams

OL Ross Pierschbacher

DL Da’Shawn Hand

DL Da’Ron Payne

S Minkah Fitzpatrick

S Ronnie Harrison

P JK Scott

Running back Bo Scarbrough and linebacker Rashaan Evans made up the second team selections, while offensive lineman Bradley Bozeman, cornerback Trevon Diggs, linebacker Shaun Dion Hamilton and cornerback Anthony Averett all landing on the SEC’s third team.

After totaling 36.9 points and 400-plus yards in three seasons under Lane Kiffin, the Tide expects to continue success with Brian Daboll calling its offense.

Even with losing a lot to the National Football League on defense, the return of Evans, Hamilton, Hand, Payne, Fitzpatrick, Harrison and others have Alabama in the best possible spot to win a national championship.
