According to multiple reports, the Washington Redskins’ defensive end, Jonathan Allen, will miss the rest of the year with an injury to the Lisfranc joint in his foot. Through five games, the former Alabama superstar has recorded a sack and 10 total tackles.
Allen had become a prominent member of Washington’s much improved defensive line, much like he was in Tuscaloosa. He was one of the most dominant players in the country during his senior season, racking up 69 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, 10.5 sacks, a pick six, three forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery for a score.
Come April’s draft, he was seen as a lock for the top-five, but unprecedented medical concerns saw him slip all the way to pick 17. The Redskins also picked up his Crimson Tide brethren, Ryan Anderson, in the second round. Allen has shown steady improvement so far this season.
Fans wish him the best of luck in his recovery.
