Five-star ‘Bama commit is a true dual threat

Matt Kartozian-USA TODAY Sports

Five-star phenom offensive lineman Pierce Quick is quite the dual threat, though not in the way you might think.

The Under Armour All-American is not only an Alabama commit for the class of 2019, he has also hit the recruiting trail (so to speak), working hard to persuade fellow stud prospects to tab Tuscaloosa as the destination for their post-high school playing days. Late last night the Hewitt-Trussville senior-to-be was at it again, this time lobbying for a current Crimson Tide pledge to stay the course.

Seemingly with a wink and a nod, Quick sent a short yet crystal clear message to four-star safety recruit Brendan Gant, whose options are open despite being committed to Nick Saban and Co. for 2019. While that “committed/uncommitted” status may widen the eyes of those unfamiliar with how this whole recruiting circus works, it’s not exactly a rarity. However, the thought of a top-flight safety recruit ending up in a secondary overseen by a renowned defensive-back guru like Saban is anything but a far-fetched one.

In fact, if it were up to Pierce Quick, Brendan Gant would have already sealed the deal via his signature on a National Letter of Intent.
