Since 2008, Nick Saban has challenged the University of Alabama with tough competition to start each season.
The purpose behind his scheduling of teams is to see how the Crimson Tide stacks up with the rest of college football in terms of its goal: winning a national championship.
According to report from FBS Schedules, Alabama has locked down a matchup against the University of Southern California on Sept. 5, 2020 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
The Tide will receive $6 million for the game via a contract obtained by the publication, while CBS or an ESPN network will air the contest. This will be the fourth time Alabama will be featured in the AdvoCare Classic, dating back to its square-off with Michigan in 2012.
It earned a 41-14 win over the Wolverines that season and defeated Wisconsin, 35-17, to open the 2015 college football season. The Crimson Tide also handled USC in 2017, as Jalen Hurts and the defense captured a 52-6 victory.
Along with this news, Saban and Alabama has put to rest the rumors concerning its lack of scheduling home and home series with other schools.
In 2022 and 2023, the Tide will play Texas and for 2028 and 2029 it will face Notre Dame.
