Alabama defensive back coach, Karl Scott, took to Twitter to make a bold prediction about the Tide’s 2019 recruiting class.
This 2019 class will go down in history…. mark my words. #ROLL1N9 #ROLLTIDE

“This 2019 class will go down in history…. mark my words. #ROLL1N9 #ROLLTIDE”
The Tide’s 2019 class currently has 16 verbal commits, which consist of one 5-Star, fourteen 4-Stars and one 3-Star. With the amount of talent Alabama has verbally committed combine with some of the targets the Tide are still in the mix for, it is not ridiculous to think this class could be very special.
Taulia Tagovailoa and Paul Tyson give Alabama two elite quarterback commits. They both have a connection to Alabama football as well as potential to answer the call at the next level.
Alabama does not have a verbal commit from an offensive skill player at the moment but they are looking to add at least two running backs, three wideouts and two tight ends. 4-Star WR, John Metchie, 4-Star WR, Mycah Pittman, 5-Star RB, Trey Sanders, 4-Star TE, Jaleel Billingsley and 3-Star TE, Jalyn Wydermyer, are recruits Alabama wants to add to this class.
The position that could set this class apart is the offensive line. Alabama’s influential leader 5-Star OT, Pierce Quick, leads the way along with 4-Star tackles, Amari Kight and Tanner Bowles. The Tide could pull in the best offensive line class during the Saban era if they could get commitments from 5-Star C, Clay Webb, 4-Star OT, Darnell Wright, and 3-Star, Kamaar Bell. Alabama is currently in a great position with all three of them.
Alabama could also do damage on the defensive line. 4-Star DT, DJ Dale, 4-Star DT, Rashad Cheney, 4-Star DE, Kevin Harris, 4-Star DE, Antonio Alfano and 4-Star DE, Justin Eboigbe are all verbally committed to Alabama. 5-Star defensive linemen Kayvon Thibodeaux, Fattui Tuitele and Ishmael Sopsher are guys that could push this class over the top and get the Tide closer to landing the most 5-Stars in the Saban era.
The linebacker position is one where Alabama wants to add depth. 4-Star linebackers Shane Lee and King MwiKuta. are currently the only linebackers committed to Alabama but that should definitely change. The No.1 LB in the country, Nakobe Dean, is high on Alabama. He is one of the pieces that could make this class pop. The Tide are also targeting 4-Star linebackers Lavonta Bentley, Daniel Heimuli Kalen Deloach Christian Harris and Rian Davis.
The secondary was the highlight of Alabama’s 2018 class. They could have similar success this time around. 4-Star defensive backs Christian Williams, Brandon Turnage and DeMarcco Hellams are currently Alabama DB commits, but what a class this could be if the Tidelands half of their major targets. 5-Star safety, Daxton Hill and 4-Star defensive backs, Noa Pola-Gates, Jeffery Carter and Erick Young could help Scott’s opinion turn into a fact.
Special teams has its place in this class as well. The No.1 kicker in the nation, Will Reichard, is committed to Alabama. This commitment is huge for so many reasons. The biggest is the kicking woes Alabama has face recently in big-time games.
Alabama’s 2019 recruiting class wants to make a name themselves and they have their coaches full support as several Alabama coaches echoed Scott’s statement. Only time will tell if Scott’s prediction will hold true.
