Freshman defensive back pushing for playing time this season at Alabama

Alabama DB Kyriq McDonald (No. 26) carted off field at 2018 CFP title game, Marvin Gentry - USA TODAY Sports

Moments like Tua Tagovailoa’s pass to Devonta Smith, Alabama’s defense in the College Football Playoff and Da’Ron Payne recording a touchdown reception while picking off a pass are easy to remember from last season.

However, one of the aspects missed from the CFP was a young Crimson Tide defensive back being carted off the field and carried to the emergency room. Kyriq McDonald was the player in question as his view of the national title game was halted, due to dehydration and flu-like symptoms. He would later celebrate the glorious accomplishment of winning the playoff trophy with his teammates; nevertheless, the talented defender now wants a chance to make an impact.
