4-Star tight end, Keon Zipperer, will take his official visit to Alabama on Oct. 17 and will get a chance to watch the Tide take on Citadel.

Alabama, Oklahoma, LSU, Florida, Miami, and Penn State made up Zipperer top 6, which he released on Oct. 5. He originally had plans to visit Tuscaloosa after the season, but a changed of plans could work in Alabama’s favor. The Tide will get a chance to show Zipperer all of what Alabama has to offer and what an Saturday looks and feels like in Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Zipperer is one of the top tight ends in the nation. He is a product of Lakeland High School in Lakeland, Florida. Alabama has dipped into Florida more than once to grab some big time talent and Zipperer can see himself being a part of that continuing trend.

“I really like it,” Zipperer said. “I feel I can be a part of the team and keep the tradition they have going on.”

Alabama’s high powered offense has allowed them to use their tight ends in the passing game this season. Tide tight end, Irv Smith, has racked up 26 receptions for 448 yards and six touchdowns. Zipperer has taken notice and feels that is huge.

“I see they are starting to use the tight end position more,” Zipperer said. “That means a lot to me.”

Jahleel Billingsley is the only tight end that is verbally committed to the Tide at the moment. Alabama could add two tight ends to their 2019 class and Zipperer would be a nice addition.
