The biggest rivalry in college football also brings around the biggest recruiting weekend for the Crimson Tide. With seven recruiting targets taking official visits to Alabama and over 40 top recruits visiting unofficially, there is plenty of story lines to pay atttention to. Here are a few key ones to keep an eye on.
Trey Sanders
Sanders is the No.1 running back in the nation out of IMG Academy. He was committed to Alabama during this time last year, but announced his de-commitment in January and declared the Tide would remain in the mix. Alabama has continued to be one of his top schools and now looks like the team to beat. The Tide getting him on campus for his official visit this weekend is huge.
Evan Neal
Neal is a 5-Star offensive lineman out of IMG Academy. He will also take an official visit with his teammates, Nolan Smith and Trey Sanders. Alabama wants to pull in an outstanding offensive line class this cycle. 5-Star, Pierce Quick, and 4-Star commits, Amari Kight, Tanner Bowles and Darrian Dalcourt, currently makes up this group and the Tide feel they can round off their offensivd line class with one or two more big time guys.
Alabama’s offensive line class can finish strong.
Noa Pola-Gates
Gates is a 4-Star defensive back and is one of the top recruits in the state of Arizona. He has admitted the Tide is in a good position to land him. Coaches have remained in contact with him and a good official visit can give the Tide another jump on the competition as Gates will make his announcement in January at the Polynesian Bowl.
Noa Pola-Gates talks Alabama before official visit.
Ty Robinson
Robinson is a 4-Star defensive end out of Arizona. The Tide can make some big moves with him during this official visit and add to a defensive line class that looks like it will be one of the best in the nation.
Jeffery Carter
Carter is currently committed to Texas A&M. It looked like the Tide were making some moves with carter before his announcement, but a surprise decision had him choosing the Aggies. Alabama looks like they have regain some momentum with Carter as he visited during Mississippi State weekend and is now visiting again for his official visit, which means Alabaama has gotten Carter on Campus two times in three weeks. This is huge during the football season.
Darnell Wright
Wright is a 5-Star offensive lineman the Tide also want to secure this stacked offensive line class. Tennessee currenlty looks like the leader for Wright. The Tide hopes this visit will pull them closer to getting a verbal from Wright.
George Pickens
Pickens is an Auburn commit that the Tide wouldn’t mine adding to their class. The one time they get to show without a doubt they own this rivalry is on the gridiron. Pickens has visited Alabama a couple of times this season and the Tide continues to push. It’ll be interesting to see if this visit affects his recruiting in any way.
